Cookie policy

1. What this policy covers

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Besides cookies, marisgilden.ee uses the browser’s local storage (localStorage), which works in a similar way but stays on your device only. In this policy we call both cookies. The policy applies to all language versions of marisgilden.ee. How we process personal data is described in our privacy policy.

2. How to give and change consent

On your first visit we show a cookie notice. There you can choose:

• Accept — allow all cookies (necessary and external-service cookies);
• Necessary only — allow only the cookies needed for the website to work;
• Preferences — choose external-service cookies separately and press “Save choice”.

Your choice is stored in the browser storage under the key `mg-cookie-v2` and is kept until you clear your browser data (in practice up to 12 months). You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookies” link in the footer, which reopens the notice with the preferences. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the website (for example the inquiry list) may then work with limitations.

3. Necessary cookies

These are needed for the website to work. No consent is asked.

• `mg-cookie-v2` — browser storage; your cookie choice; until you clear your browser data (in practice 12 months); AS Maris Gilden.
• `mg-inquiry-v2` — browser storage; the products and quantities in your inquiry list until you send the inquiry; until you clear your browser data; AS Maris Gilden.
• `mg-mode` — browser storage; your chosen catalogue view; until you clear your browser data; AS Maris Gilden.
• mg-club-prompt, mg-nl-done, mg-visit (localStorage / sessionStorage) — whether the Taste Club invitation has been shown or closed, whether you have subscribed, and how long you have actively viewed the site (this visit only). Needed so we do not repeat the invitation. Kept until you clear browser data; the session part disappears when the window closes.
• `wordpress_*`, `wp-settings-*` — cookies; login and admin panel settings; only for our staff who manage the website; until the end of the session or up to 1 year; AS Maris Gilden.

Ordinary visitors get no login cookies. The language choice is part of the web address and needs no cookie.

• `_ga` — distinguishes visitors; 2 years; Google.
• `_ga_*` — keeps the session state; 2 years; Google.

Google may transfer data outside the European Economic Area under the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

4. External-service cookies

These measure the performance of our advertising and allow content from external services to load. They load only after your consent.

• Google Maps on the Contact page — loads only when you press “Show map” and have consented to external-service cookies; Google may set its own cookies (for example `NID`, 6 months); Google Ireland Ltd.

Google may transfer data outside the European Economic Area under the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

5. What we do not do

The Taste Club newsletter service (MailerLite) and the e-mail delivery service (Brevo) set no cookies on the website. We do not sell data collected through cookies and do not use it to identify visitors.
