Bread crisps

The bread crisps of the “Crispy Breads” range were the first bread products we brought to market. Back then we were looking for arguments to set us apart from the competition and surveyed hundreds of people in supermarkets to formulate a unique selling point. My own assumption was that while most bread crisps are a rather hard deep-fried product, our “Crispy Breads” consist of a light rusk that is merely sprinkled with oil and seasoning. “Up to 30% less fat” sounded like a pretty good argument to me – until a lady of about 80 put me in my place at a product demo. She listened thoughtfully and then shook her head: “I don’t care about the fat, but they’re just good to eat. They don’t break your teeth!” It was hard to come up with anything more apt. That is exactly the claim that made it onto the packaging.

Garlic bread crisps are the most traditional flavour, and should particularly appeal to anyone looking for a short ingredient list. The simple reason is that garlic powder in its natural form is pungent enough to season a product on its own.
